Therefore, mold damage should not be considered lightly. If the matter is delayed for a prolonged period of time the mold growth will initially increase and the task can eventually turn more expensive.

Now that we have the tools, let’s follow some simple steps to get rid of mold damage-----
1. LOCATE THE MOLD-The first step is to locate or check where the damage occurred, to find it your nose helps you with this particular task. Pay close attention to the smells around you. Mold is basically found near the drywall water damage, it usually smells like a damp basement. Some areas of the home attacked by the molds include the attic, basement, kitchen sinks, water appliances, toilets, and around windows. Other indicators are that it is in green, black, brown or orange in color.
2. REMOVING DRYWALL-For this step you don’t have to cut down the whole area but you just need to rip the affected piece of drywall. Simply locate the area that has water damage and draw a square around it, extending up to several inches. Wear your protective gear and use your utility knife and cut down the damaged area. Make sure, you don’t cross the line drawn.
3. CLEANING THE MOLD- While doing this process, throw away the drywall, but the wood behind it should be kept back because it can be cleaned. The wood should be sanded to remove the mold as it does not require much sanding because the mold is mainly on the surface. When you are done with the process of sanding the wood, clean the surrounding surfaces with bleach and water each part respectively.
4. SEAL THE HOLES-This last step is not that difficult as the caption imitates. Firstly, you need to measure the space that you cut and then transfer those measurements to a sheet of drywall. Use the utility knife again and cut out the piece and just fit it to the hole. Now tape around the entire piece and spackle the edges to further seal the drywall.
